How a lawyer connection can work.

A clear explanation of the service, who answers the line, and what happens before you decide whether to request a connection.

Swift Assistance is a lawyer referral service, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. Any lawyer connection depends on availability and your consent, and is not a promise of representation.

The process

Three things to understand before a connection.

A lawyer referral service is not a law firm. Here is how Swift Assistance works before you share personal information or decide whether to go ahead.

01

Know who operates the service.

A Swift Assistance team member answers the line during our hours. Our team members are not lawyers and do not practice law or give legal advice.

02

Understand how a connection works.

If a participating lawyer is available, we tell you which lawyer or firm would receive your request, how participating firms are selected and paid, and what information would be shared, before anything is sent.

03

Choose whether to continue.

A connection is never automatic. You decide only after the process is explained. The lawyer decides whether to accept representation and gives any legal advice.

A referral or introduction is not a promise that a lawyer will accept a matter or achieve a particular result.

Your information, your decision

Know the details before sharing anything.

Whether you are comparing lawyer referral services or looking for a way to find a car accident lawyer, you should know who operates the service and how an optional connection is handled. Here is what Swift Assistance tells every caller:

  • Who receives my information, and what is shared? Only a participating law firm, only after you agree on the call, and only what is needed for the connection.
  • Which lawyer would receive my request, and where is their office? Before any referral, we tell you the participating lawyer's name and the city, town, or county of their office.
  • Can I say no? What if no lawyer is available? Yes, you can decline at any point. If no participating lawyer is available for your area or question, we tell you, and you can contact any lawyer directly.

Clear service boundaries

Know what Swift Assistance does—and does not do.

If you are looking for a lawyer referral, it helps to know the difference between a referral service and a law firm.

Swift Assistance is not a law firm

Swift Assistance does not provide legal or medical advice, decide fault, assess a legal claim, or promise a lawyer connection. Only a licensed lawyer can give legal advice and decide whether to accept representation.

Any connection option depends on whether a participating lawyer is available for your area and question.

What we tell you before any referral

  • Our registered business name and the role of the team member you are speaking with.
  • How your contact information is used and when it may be shared.
  • How participating lawyers are selected and how Swift Assistance is paid.
  • The participating lawyer's office location by city, town, or county when a referral is made.
